Sunday Selfie #23 {Bear Kitten hijinks}

I know I'm handsome. So joining The Cat on My Head's Sunday Selfies blog hop is a no brainer! 

Momma raided my kitten pictures and we have enough for a couple weeks (the first was Sunday Selfie #22 {Bear Kitten/Kitty - the couch}). As she says, "What's better than pictures of Bear Cat? Pictures of BEAR KITTEN!!!" For those of you who don't know ... I was homeless and about eight months old when Momma and I met ... so please excuse the lack of tiny kitten pictures {my rescue story is in The good news is your cat is not pregnant ... the bad news is ... (or How We Met)}. This week, I'm sharing pictures of my hijinks as a kitten (ten years ago). I sure kept her on her toes! 

After viewing my pictures, you're MORE than welcome to express your appreciation of this fine feline specimen with tasty whole chickens ... my Momma will give you the address (just tell her you're sending me socks!). ~Bear Cat

Plans for making this MY dinner ...
1) Pretend I want to be close to Momma ... and grab the food when her back is turned.
2) Sneeze a REALLY JUICY, REALLY NASTY sneeze on her food such that she gives it to me in disgust.
3) Fart silently and take off. Okay, okay. So that won't yield the food but it's adequate revenge for her not sharing her food with me!



This doesn't look like the right channel! Where are the swim-y and fly-ey things that look tasty? There's nothing to catch in this one, but talky people!!!


Why am I sitting in the sink? Because I can. And because it weirds the humans out. A little water never killed anyone ... though I fully reserve the right to pretend otherwise when it suits my purposes.


What do you mean I'm not allowed up here? You only said I couldn't hang out in the fireplace! The way you ran toward me flailing your arms and saying, "BEAR!" made me think you were excited I got up here!

So much cool stuff up here to explore. And I get to look down on you. The perfect spot for a cat of my standing. Why would you have a heart attack that I'm up here? Am I THAT cute? OBVIOUSLY!

What do you mean I'm not allowed to climb in the closet?!?! You only said I couldn't climb the kitchen cabinets and I couldn't hang out in the fireplace!

Thank you for building me this fort! I finally reached the summit! Since I refuse to get IN a box ... they are only good for climbing. However, I am somewhat disappointed at your reaction to this climbing expedition ... where are the "BEAR, NO!!!"s and the flailing like a crazypants?!?! Cracks me up EVERY TIME.


The Big Dodo hates this tie so I get to play with it. Okay. He thinks I'd look cute with it, but I'm too excited to play with it to let him finish tying it properly.

What do you mean I'm not supposed to hang out in the sand box? I'm working on sand castles! And maybe taking a nap ...


About to pounce ... in ONE YUMMY TREAT ... TWO YUMMY TREAT ... RATS! 
Hi! I'm just sitting here! I wasn't up to anything!
Hmmm. For some reason, I have a hankering for treats. Can I have some treats?


MOMMA! IT'S AN EMERGENCY!!! My favorite mousie, Mr. Moto, is stuck under the television stand again! 
What do you mean you rescued him thirty seconds ago? How does that matter? He's stuck NOW!
Can we play?
Can I have treats?
I love to hear the sound of my own meow. And I like to be demanding because I can ... I'm cute ... and therefore, I get most of what I want.

I'm showing this Tigger who's the boss around here ... stupid toys get all cheeky and think I'll just take this kind of disrespect! This will teach you to NOT look at me with that ridiculous smile on your face!

  2. WOW! I can see that you were quite the adventure kitten, and rightly had to check out every nook and cranny. It's what I did and pays to keep on top these things should the need arise to stash the odd mousie, or three. purrs ERin ps. I definitely would not be putting up with that Tigger character either, I do hope he has been respecting your paw, now?

  9. You were, and still are very cute. Looks like you had lots of fun growing up. Did you know that Eric loved water? Mum used to leave the bathroom sink tap trickling for us to drink from, but he would go to sleep in the sink and block the plug hole. My mum got fed up with him keep flooding the floor, so then she left the bath tap trickling instead.

  17. Oh Bear, you are and were so adorable. Ya' know it had been a a very long time since we had seen any kitty hang out in da pawdee box. Mommy and me both got a little grossed out and when Raena wanted to play in them. OMC They coulda been dirty ya' know?. And fur sure ya' don't smell good after sittin' in dat stuffs. As fur makin' dat dinner yours...your mommy didn't seem to be payin' much attention to it in da furst place. Me's here to tell ya', all ya' gotta do is snatch dat sammich and head fur da top of da tree. MOL Good luck gawjus. Big hugs fur both of ya.
