News with Latte

HIIIII! Latte here! I'm your roving, nose-y, in-your-beeswax cat about the Momma Kat house. Want to know what we're up to?

New this week! Momma calls me Chonkers, and Daddy laughs! Momma says I've joined the "Big Girl Club," and I'm thinking that's not a compliment. Humans are so rude. Do we complain about their bellies being so large that they trip over us because they can't see us on the floor past their bellies? NO! Do we laugh when they hug, and their bellies bounce off each other? Okay, okay. Fine. Do we laugh HARD? NO!

The humans get a kick out of telling Ewwie that she "wicks woudwy." They laugh so hard when they say it, they cry. I mean, Ellie licks loudly. You can hear her across the house. But I'm too polite scared to tell her that. What's with the speech impediment? Daddy said they need to get Ewwie Ellie an Elmer Fudd hat. I'd pay $10 $50 to see them try to put it on her.

On another note, Momma says that she spends half of her life chasing me away from Ellie and Ellie's food plate, and the other half of the time chasing Ellie around with her food plate to get her to eat. See, Ellie doesn't like when anyone looks at her or moves while she eats. You'd think she'd be lithe. She's not. SHHHHHH! Don't repeat that.

If I'm a Chonkers Fun-sized, Ellie's a Chonkers full-size candy bar. Or in terms my Momma can understand, if I'm a doughnut hole, Ellie's the full doughnut. But that's just between us. I told Ellie to keep her ears open for the "d" word. And by the "d" word, I'm not referring to doughnuts. No. DIET. The last thing we need is for Chonky Ewwie to be HANGRY. Yeah, 99% of the time, Ellie is sweet. But when she gets ticked off, you better run. And let me tell you ... for her size, she moves waddles fast!

On another another note, I've started heavily scenting our knife block whenever I get on the counter. You'd think the humans would be afraid and stop referring to me as Chonkers. But no. They laugh and comment on how cute I am. They are apparently too stupid to realize it's a threat. Geez. Managing humans is hard. Now I understand why all my feline friends tell me humans are untrainable. I've trained mine to play fetch, but that's it! Even a DOG can play fetch.

Our pictures for the past few weeks:

Why are humans so obsessed with what's lady-like?

How is this comfortable? Ellie always lays on Momma like this. That's not lady-like either!

My Momma's new favorite picture (that doesn't include me ... SNIFF!).

  1. Girls, there ain't nothin wrong with being squeezy! Don't let nay sayers bother you one bit. And neither of you are chonky. And Ellie Mae, YOU are the leader in the feline family. Don't forget it.

  2. We have the same issue with CB and Manny: CB wolfs his food, then will push Manny off of his if we don't police it. Manny must be coaxed to finish his meal.

  3. I think you are just the right size. I do call Rosie Chonky. I think a chonky cat is a healthy cat. I have had too many waste away and worry about them eating that I don't worry if they gain some extra. XO

  5. Around the Ranch we say so-and-so is fluffy, not fat. And like Bridget Jones, we love you just the way you are. 💙

  9. You're a big, beautiful girl! I often say when I adopted Mudpie she was a slice of pie, now she's the whole pie! And if I were your peeps I would be very wary of you sniffing around the knife block...YIKES!

  10. AMARULA: The Big Girl Club is very exclusive! Tell your human you're proud to be a member! The human also sometimes gets the crazy notion in her head that I am a bit bigger than I should be but isn't it always a good thing when there is MORE tortie to love!?
