Momma shoots the cats? Part 2

As the Boy will tell you, I take a ridiculous number of pictures. I've learned that the best way to get good shots is to keep snapping. Just one second can affect whether a picture is usable or not - and there's no real way to know until you view the pictures on a display larger than the camera screen. Cats aren't easy to photograph - and sharing one's life with two is infinitely more complicated than one. So many of the pictures I take are dictated by specific posts - but I've been working on candid, day-to-day shots that have no obvious purpose. This post - and the last one posted Friday - share many of these pictures with you. We hope they bring you as much joy to view as they did Momma to photograph. That's why I take so many pictures - photographing the cats makes me happy.

The post is composed of pictures with captions. If you missed part 1, you may follow the link to it here: Momma shoots the cats? Part 1.

  1. Those were all such fun but I'm still giggling at the run-by-shredding!

  2. Bear always has a grin going; he's a saucy one! Getting good photos of black cats is always a challenge; like you said, on the small screen they make look good, but on a bigger one, it's always chancy. Da Boyz love to hang out together in the window: two black cats, and too much light...it's a tough set up for my iPhone camera!

  4. BAWHAHAHAHHAA! I take 10,000 photos, too. And no Bear, you could not be more adorable. And we ALL feel your pain about wanting to play but just being too darn tired.

P.S.: Rosie suggests you try the run by/drive pushing glass of water off table trick as a follow up to run by shredding.

    1. It's so hard to appear effortlessly adorable 24/7 ... though you all would know about that!

  11. A professional photographer of big cats once told me to point and keep your finger on the shutter when you're shooting fleeting pets. Sure you may shoot 87 bazillion shots (they can be deleted) but that one, that special one will make you glad you did. I suspect the same thing holds true for the pet sized version as well. 😸

    1. That's my new theory. Though if you hold down the button, our camera takes a video. We end up with a ton of videos (just a second or two) too.

  12. Oh, we love all these photos! It's true -- a split second makes the difference between a great photo and a "darn, I just missed that." By the way, "It's food time. A crowd gathers," just made us MOL!

    1. It's a "thing" around here ... every night. I suspect Bear's the ring-leader of this.

  13. Aww... all those photos made me and Mom smile. We have many favorites, but I think our #1 fav of Bear is the
"No. As it turns out..." and our #1 fav of Ellie is the "Whoa. This is the good stuff..." Tee hee hee. Kisses.
